early. I didn't feel first rate and went upstairs early at night, (to read) Mr. Titlow (our roomer) sent up word by Mother, asking if I wd. go to the theatre tomorrow night "The Medal & the Maid" Jan 5. Tues. Of course I went - and we sat down in the bald-headed row and enjoyed it immensely. It was pretty - very - and rather funny & quite amusing. Afterward we had hot chocolate & cold chocolate! Jan 6-7 Wed & Thurs Uneventful days - Miss Thomas died Wednesday p.m. Sew & read evenings Jan 8. Fri. "Gracie Bugs" came down & helped us - change the files - Rather a strenuous day. In the evening we had a "Perfects" meeting at Mary's - but Helen, Chat & Miss Crichton didn't come so we only had two tables. The Rogers were there - all in black, Mabel was amusing but not hilarious - She & Nellie were tied for first.

Got "Truthful Jno's" acknowledgement!
Jan. 9. Sat Nice winter's day. Claude was invited to the Lyceum, to sit in a box with the Huntington's. It was Henry Irving in "The Merchant of Venice". I shopped this p.m. & wrote at night got an "appreciation" - letter from "Truthful John" yesterday.
