Fri Sept. 18.
Fine day. I was very tired tonight, but went to
Cro'nest with
Mother to call on Jo. She is so cute and pretty and entertaining. Had a
pleasant evening.
Sat. Sept. 19.
A fine day. This afternoon "Zaza" Blackall
and I left at 4:30 and took our long- planned ride to
Pittsford. We went out via.
Monroe Ave. and it was fine. Mostly down grade and
so pretty in the late afternoon sunshine. Passed many "bubbles" and
Emma Wilder driving with a young man. Walked thro'
the town of Pittsford and stopped at
Maplewood, coming back that road - and ordered
a chicken supper. Went up on the hill and watched the sunset and
then ate an excellent supper in the yellow glow, in the side yard - till
it got too dark, when they moved us to the front piazza. Cats and
kittens gamboled about for the scraps. It was pitch dark when we
started back, and I had my lantern Lura
gave me - It was fine - just made the darkness visible and scared
the automobiles away. It went out just as we crossed the city limits!
Got home early but it seemed very late after the long ride in the
dark. Was very sleepy and slept very well.
