tonight, so we took the five o'clock train car
down and had supper with Helen
and a stroll on the beach and a real good time. She is going to
Chautauqua
next week, so can't go to Block Island, &
Mary will go there or to
Nantucket
alone. The round trip to Providence on this
excursion is only $10:50!
July 4. Fri.
A gorgeous 4th of July morning. Papa
is at the Hill.
Mother & the cats home.
Claude went to
Syracuse on the Empire and I started for
Pulaski
on the R.W & O. at 10 a.m. with the postmen who
paraded in Oswego. We got a hot box in
Sodus & were late, but
Oswego was a "blaze of glory" as we went thro'.
I saw
Mr. Harrington, the stage driver, at
Pulaski, but he had to wait for the 4 o'clock
train, so I took a walk thro' the village and tried to call on
Belle
