house with a "shanty" view and just before dinner Anna, Herb, Barbara, Alice, Gurdon and I strolled about the grounds - Alice (and I come) kodaking Barbara and her little cart &c. and went to see the pigs and the cow and the garden and so on. Then we had dinner - a delicious fried chicken one, and after dinner sat about in our white ducks and talked and had a good time and later in the afternoon went for a driver with Herb, Anna, Barbara and Nan. Down thro' Saugerties and up past the Corses, Risings, Hurrys, Spauldings &c and out the "chicken farm road" - a sort of a private affair going past woods (close) and winding along the river with beautiful views of the other shore - Tivoli and the Islands and up thro' someones yard (apparently) and the hamlet of Glasco and finally outinto the turnpike and winding by other byeways thro' Saugerties and then down the "boulevard" (where we saws blue birds, orioles and woodpeckers) finally home just in time for supper - Barbara staid up for it - instead of eating from a tray on
