Oct. 21 Wed J.G. sails for home today. The air is full of politics and I am covered with paste - making scrap books for his Eminence! Went to Charella's to dinner to day - to the Alexander Street house which is very nice. It was rather lonesome without Edward - who has gone to Williams College - but Frank is a fine boy and getting very manly. Charella and I were both about sick I've had neuralgia again ever since Dr. Scranton pounded my toothy. Albert Schumacher came and made us a grate fire and talked about "Yurrup". Oct. 22. Thurs.

Simply had to stay in bed this a.m. It was a lovely day tho'. Mother was sweeping and I went to a 12 o'clock dinner, with Charlotte
. And then bought a winter coat. Quite a day's work! Oct. 22 Fri. Another lovely - no - it was yesterday that was lovely - till night, when it rained and it rained today. The Perfects met at Davis's tonight (it didn't rain then) and Catherine Crichton came (on probation - but she didn't know it) and Mrs. D. played for Edith Scott, whose sister is very sick at the hospital. Mary & Lura picked out an art Noveau pin - with a pearl.
