Jan. 24 Stayed home all day to day and rested and read and fussed &c. Mon. Jan. 25 Claude got fouth place - first mention - in the Library Competition of the Brick- builder - just shy of $100! As it turned out some of the committee were anxious to give him first place - as his details were best of all - That wd. be $500! It's a shame he was so near and yet so far - yet an honor as there were 300 competitors! Tonight I was invited up to Lura's to play "Flinch". Mary & Nellie & Laura Hutchinson were there, too and we had quite a jolly time learning. There all played together (with 2 packs.) including Mrs. Baker & Mrs. Coe. Stayed very late and had delicious pomola sandwiches and coffee It was cold (& late) going home - via Park Ave. line. Sidewalks very slippery.
