peacock. The day before - Monday - we had our Perfects at
Lura's - and
Matie was there (in Mary's
place - she was sick)
Mabel got first prize and Charlotte
the booby - We had Welsh rabbits from
Lura's & Helen's chafing dishes -
very good. I wore my best silk
dress - The

following Wednesday Mary
telephoned me in the afternoon and we met and saw Amelia
Bingham in "A Modern Magdalen".
Gottschalk
was funny and it was all im- mensely well acted - but the play
wasn't as good as the "Climbers".
Dixey made a great incompetent old humbug of a man "Cheerily,

Cheerily"! The Friday after I went to Claude's
& Charlotte's to lunch - J.W. in
