good. After supper - when it got dark enough, but by moonlight, we had a big bonfire in front of the "Sanctum". Albert Hartman had come and he and Frank & Charles popped corn and we ate it and fed the kittens "Romeo" and "Juliet" and toasted our toes. Finally May got so cold she had to go in and pretty soon we all did - When Mannin had put the fire out with water we sat up, inside, and talked pretty late. I went to bed in the lovely northwest corner room with casement windows opening two ways to the lake. Slept fine. Aug. 17. Sun. It was a fine morning, too, but cool and breezy and they had a fire in the fireplace all day. We had breakfast at nine, and I took a picture of the family sitting around the fire - Later, Mr. Willard and I went out trolling. It was rough but fine and breezy. He caught a small muskalonge and I a good sized perch and both of us many weeds, and used up all the worms. Got back about two or so and sat by the fire till dinner (a mighty good one) Then we gave "Romeo" and "Juliet"
