Jan. 19 Sun.
Went up to Charella's in the afternoon
had had a nice little visit with her and then walked up to
Davis's the back way - past the pretty
new Buell house
the boys are making. Only staid about 5
minutes at Davis's -
Miss Scott
walked down to Lura's with
me and there we had a Welsh rabbit and beer! Came home about nine
and when I changed cars noticed a big crowd in front of the
White Kitchen, which turned out later to be the
consequence of a murder -just discovered - of old
Mr. Brown, the jeweler, upstairs - the one who did so much
work for Ned - a brutal murder with
a hammer - and no prospect of finding the murderer.
Jan. 31. Sunday.Claude's been down to
Syracuse
for a little vacation, but is back.
Charlotte is still quite sick, but
gaining. Tonight the "Perfects" met with me
and we had a very nice time "Little
Fredericka" came
