Oct. 18 Sun. This is the day we didn't go to Ithaca, after all - tho' the sun shone as the train went out, it was pretty raw afterward and we were both far from well. Made prints at the office this a.m and spent the afternoon quite used up - in my room in my red wrapper with Zozie. Edith J. came up toward night and stayed to supper with me and into the evening. Oct. 19 Mon. Cold too much for me this p.m. so I came home and went to bed and slept - but got up to go to cooking school and made Eggs a la Buckingham &c. with Zaza , under Miss Leach's directions. They were good. Oct. 20 Tues.

Cro'nest - Char's View. 10/16/03.
Went to the dentist's this p.m - and he nearly murdered me, regaling me meanwhile with tales of how his wife had the smallpox last winter. It was a pleasant afternoon! Tonight Mother and I went up to Davis's ("Frances" sent me a note) and heard Mrs. Howson's letters about the photo-book and heard Frank's news that he is to be married this fall - and has a house - 16 Shepard Street and is full of enthusiasm!
