Mon. Sept. 21 Still fine - Everyone has gone polo-mad. The Calgary team are here, at the country club. Char & Jo went & enjoyed it hugely, and J.W. talks of little else, even in his brother's letters. Spent the evening cross-stitching (my favorite occupation) Tues. Sept. 22 Still so lovely that I simply had to take the afternoon off (which I did) Started about 2:30 on "Diana" and rode to the Lake, via. the Boulevard, exploring the poplar-lane on the way - and the rows of "sisters'" graves in the Holy Sepulchre and looking in at Riverside and loafing all the way. Such a pretty glimpse of over grown railroad - all golden rod and asters, I tried to make a picture of, but it didn't come out well. I also took the Stein cottage "Shingleside"
