now & then in such a way that I might respond - but I never do. I'll keep her guessing a month or so. That night was Helen's birthday (or the day after) and we all gave her things for her cottage - (I a Russian Bowl & a "growler") & there were poems &c & a nice supper. & Apr 28th Tues. We all went home early. Last Tuesday Helen went to N.Y. & Bedford to spend a month with Kate. Mary
 went down with her & Mrs. Armstrong. Mary
 invited me to go - on her pass (she had 2) but I declined. I saw Helen the Sunday before. She is much better & was having such a pretty blue suit made. I've been up there about every Sunday & one (last) went up on the new Orphan Asylum Hill with Chattie. Frank & Miss Mackey were at the Arts & Crafts. They are devoted - or he is. Mr. & Mrs. Kies were there too. Mary
 and I went to see Mary Shaw in " Ghosts " about Apr 30 Thurs a month ago. It was great. Thursday night. I took Lura to see Francis Wilson in "The Toreador". It was very funny & we had a good time. I went
