Miss Lockwood began playing & then to sing, Mother, Mrs. Wilkinson, Miss Wilson ("Lou") Little Charlotte
, Papa & I were very near the big bank of green in front of the fireplace - under dear old Samuel May's picture, where Dr. Calthrop stood waiting. Con & a Wilkinson (cousin) came up with the white ribbons - and then Claude and Harry (both so handsome & pale) Then Miss Peck and Mrs. Blackwood with lovely white gowns - green sashes and breast knots and big bouquets of asparagus ferns - Then Kath alone - with maiden- hair fern. Then Fred and Charlotte, in a beautiful gown of White silk with a gorgeous lace bertha, a veil a wreath of orange blossoms and a big bouquet of white roses - Dear Claude sent his mother one too - and Mrs. Wilkinson and dear "Aunt Louisa" who gave them The pretty "Crane" china (or "poppy") The ceremony was certainly most beautiful and impressive. No one ever gave responses more beautifully than Claude - nor looked them so - and Charlotte were lovely too. The "blessing" was beautiful - and I was so proud and happy - for him - that I didn't feel quite so teary as I expected - nor Mother either - Tho' she shed a few - poor dear.
