Feb. 28 (No other company, for a wonder). The follow- ing Sun Friday we had the Perfects here. Mrs. Davis was the substitute and we were all on time except Mabel, who was only five minutes late! The highest played with the lowest - and so on - and it was a great mix-up. Sisters played together and quarreled (like for instance Mabel calling Florence
a "ninny") and it was quite jolly - Everyone made quick scores. We had delicious ice cream & wafers. Mar. 2 The next Sunday It rained all day and by night Exchange St. was flooded below here, Con said and the next Mar. 3 Monday morning it was aflood - 'way up over curbs &c. By noon it was an inch higher than in 1896, and worse than that the Lehigh breakwater broke & let the water in to the feeder - so it flooded Mt. Hope Avenue & people had to be rapped up at 4:30 to get up and save their potatoes & gather coal up-cellar &c. The Flacks were among them. Ethel couldn't get to the office at all and Reg. came in a canoe! - and went home in it at night. Mother dear and I had planned to go to
