June 18. Sun.
Nearly a month since I've written in this journal – thing – but I’m
tired of recording the things I don’t care straws about for the sake
of the things I do – and don’t have time to, really.
5/27
Let’s see. The Saturday after I wrote last I went to
Dansville - with Papa - and spent Saturday - night, Sunday, Monday &
part of Tuesday, Decoration Day with
Mrs. Andrews. It rained some of course,
but was altogether pleasant. The Library Saturday night – church and
the new
5/28
minister Sunday and seeing lots of old friends &c. Papa came back to dinner with us – and then
we called on Dem
and later went to the Sanitarium,
where we got caught in a shower & sat on the piazza & waited
– talking to a nice setter - dog. Helen Noyes Baker
was up there & they say Admiral Dewey's nephew
& Henry James' brother are stopping there. I went driving
with the Dr. in the
5/29
evening & Monday morning. We had little Marguerite
Herrick, the minister’s four-year-old, in too. In the p.m.
the
Dr. took me “up on Sandy
Hill” while he was visiting his patient I sat in the
carriage & reread “Dolly Dialogues" and
1899.
