and finally walked down to the beach the “upper” way – past the Sea Cliff Inn & some beautiful cottages & then went down across the sand to Hotel Nantucket where we tried to find Mr. & Mrs. Chaves, but they were not there - Sat on the piazza till we saw the steamer “heaving” in sight in the distance and then went down & watched the crowd at the dock and the crowd coming in. Our train didn’t get started till nearly quarter of eight and was almost crowded -! We were ready for our good supper when we got it at last - Little Joe Husband came & talked to us while we ate, telling about his thrilling ride home from town across the moors on a bicycle in the dark, and showing us a real old harpoon he bought for 50¢! I got a letter from Mama and a postal from Con – who was in Ottawa Thursday.
