appeared in a dream of lovliness beyond description! The
Tower is a wonder of beauty – with its 30000 jewels of
lights and a cool green cascade of water & the central feature
of the whole illumination- in its middle – We reluctantly pushed our
way thro’ Jinrickshas and chairs and Mexicans and Americans – to the
Elmwood gate
where we kissed the Dear Boy
goodbye and came down town to the 9:30 train – just in time –
Mrs. Chapin &
Cal Hitchcock were on it and we saw
Cad in the station. We were 40 minutes
late into Rochester and didn’t get home till
12:30 or so – not much the worse for wear – but I was glad

yesterday was a short day at the office. I slept most of the
afternoon & Edith was up in the
