The day before Decoration Day – altho' it looked rainy,
as usual, Edith, Mary & I went up to
Buffalo at 4:23 and had supper at
Statler’s – then went out to the
Exposition and got there just before
dark and in time to see the lights turned on – which was very
beautiful. It drizzled a bit and the clouds were low and there was a
mist and the reflection in the wet asphalt and the wierdness of it –
the tower- top appearing & disappearing – was all fine we
strolled about and admired – Met Lou Saunders.
&c. went to Hattie Arnold
Brower’s – 175 Breckenridge St.,
where we’d sent our bags and spent the night - each in a nice clean
separate room it rained in the night & was very cloudy when we
started out, after
(30th)
breakfast. Rained a little – on & off all day – but didn’t worry
us any till 4:30 when it poured till we left.
We enjoyed the Fisheries and Government
Bldgs. very much indeed - we went there first – by noon we got
around to the
Midway and had luncheon in “Venice”
(May 29)
