with him & Jno. Hilliard
tomorrow but I’m too tired – no rest last
Sunday!
Con took me to
Seton–Thompson's lecture Monday – it was fine. Claude had him to dinner.
Apr. 21. Sunday
Such a pouring cold rainy day – the worst and homesickest ever. I’ve
been reading & loafing all day and got down great grand-
mother’s portrait from the attic – and cleaned it up
a little. Yesterday was the worst day we've had this winter - heavy
soggy snow turning to rain black heavy sky above and the worst
possible slog underfoot – coming after a week of nice bicycle weather too!
This last week – that is, Monday night
Tuesday supper Wednesday night, Thurs- day
supper & evening – Friday night noon (with
Miss. Gutman) and Saturday supper
and evening – I spent at the opening of the
Mechanics Institute which was really
quite an affair. Mary and I had
our tintypes taken there Wednesday – by electric light. Let me see,
since I wrote last J.W. has come home
from
Europe and J.G.
has gone and
Claude’s engagement has been announced
and Mary Dodds has been married
1901
with him & Jno. Hilliard
