down to Edith’s & Freddie’s) and spent the evening – Met a
Miss St. Germain - Heard all about Mr. &
Mrs. Cross' trip to Bermuda.
“Tuesday's” eighth birthday. Ate pistachio nuts –
yesterday I staid down to lunch with Mae
Stull (no, that was last week) – with Claude and Jno.
Hilliard and the day before with the girls and Monday with
Mama.
Mch. 25 Sun.
A lovely sunny day – but still cold - I’ve just taken The “Bride's & Groom's” picture. Edith wants me to go up to
Mae’s after church (if I go) this p.m.
Last night Mary and I went to see
DeWolf Hopper in “The Charlatan” It was very
comic – opera-y but we both enjoyed it – feeling in the mood – He
made two speeches between the acts – Little Jessie
Macaye was very cute indeed and one of his songs very funny,
but the music was not so particularly stunning as some I’ve heard.
Our rooms are papered now and the house looks very pretty and
homey and dear and nice this morning. “We ought to be thankful” – as
Mama says.
