to play cards by the grate fire. Last night we went to the
“Maneuvers of Jane” and there
9th
have been political processions &c. &c. Tuesday was
Cad’s wedding day. I stopped for
Edith Corse (who is at
Florence Beigler’s) and she went with us to the
church & saw the wedding. Then we went to the
Livingston Grill room to supper & she came up & spent
the evening. Claude went to
N.Y. next morning to Mr. Watson’s
yacht launching which takes place tomorrow. Tomorrow Mama & I go up the Valley &
Papa stays home to tend Zo & Zen the
darlings.
Oct 13. Sat.
Nice day - & warm - but looked a little bit like rain. Mama, Edith & I started off an the Erie at 9:25 am. A lot of
horse show people were on - Mary -
the Gilman Perkins - The Levi
Wards, the Van Voorhises &c. &c.
Most of them got off at Avon and drove up to
the Big Tree Farm (10 miles). We saw them passing the
Inn soon a after we arrived. At
Avon where we changed - saw Miss
Shelton & Miss Fichtner - also going up
- and had quite a chat with them. We left
Mother on the train & went up to the
Big Tree Inn (riding our wheels some of the way)
and got a pleasant front room
to play cards by the grate fire. Last night we went to the
