last night Nellie Mac & I went to see the “Three Musketeers Ormonde was grand”! as Claude says – just his kind – lots of swagger. Had a note from Mrs. Hoyt today asking me out there again Sunday and Claude & I rode out to call at 5, to tell her I couldn’t come, but she wasn't in. Mary came up to get me to go to the park tonight, but I was too busy – dear Mary. Nellie & I had another long talk on a certain subject last night! I've been reading Kenneth Grahame and I think he is fine – Mr. Aroix wanted me to come down yesterday & let him read me “Voltaire” in the original! Why do I write a lot of trivialities - but life is all made of them - The only things I need say is - I am happy. Not from what is happening to me – but because of the inner life I live and the interest I take in observing other peoples comedies and tragedies – That’s all.
