little brother took me to see May Irwin in “The Widow Jones”. We sat in the bald headed row and enjoyed Dec. 5. Thurs. it immensely. Have been busy this week beginning Xmas shopping and reading “Tristram of Blent” which I think is fine. Claude and I play about one game of backgammon a day and I beginning to beat him! Fearfully busy at the office. Dec. 27th Friday. Papa, Mama & I all sit here writing away. I have been acknowledging Xmas things &c. Claude went to Syracuse yesterday to stay over Sunday.

Last Saturday night Edith, Charlotte& I (Helen was sick) went to Lura's and packed a box for Mary. Put in our regular things and some jokes. On top was an immense Christmas card with blue satin fringe around it that Mother’s mission class once gave her. I also sent a package of cigarettes, a bottle of “burgunder” and a Santa Clause with a little tree – Edith sent a pink celluloid frame Lura a pink plush angel & a “jewel-case” Chat a book on etiquette &c.&c. It was all right
