Jan. 14 Sunday. These last two weeks have passed very quietly. Very busy at the office – getting the Department of Public Safety nicely going. Writing “orders” and things early and late and evenings mostly spent in my cozy red wrapper – reading – I’ve read “Sentimental Tommy” over – a dear book - and “In Ghostly Japan” and now I’m reading “The Widow Lampert” which Hilda gave me – I have a dear of a letter from Hilda – by the way. Have had a pretty gray skirt made.
