Jan 8-11 Tues-Thurs I won’t say anything more about the fire – tho’ there is plenty to say of the awfulness of these black ruins and talks with Miss Dinehart &c. and a trip through the building with Mama Saturday. Tuesday to Friday was the Cat Show. We - Mama, Claude & I – had just taken them down the evening before the fire – they had a fine cage in the middle of the room (a double one) and really attracted more attention than almost any others. Very many people spoke about them and they certainly did look cunning – all clean and white on a green velvet cushion. The judge said a lot of nice things to me about Zozo. Praised his eyes and his coat especially – and everyone remarked on the their “nice faces”! Mary & Edith and I went Wednesday Thursday night and I went again Thursday – and took Frank Davis around. Con was there too &c.

Saturday I went to Burton Holmes' Paris Exposition lecture – sat near Mary & her mother – and afterward Mary and I did errands – went to Whittle's for chocolate, Lura’s, Glenny's, Sibley's
13th
&c. &c. Sunday p.m. I went down to Edith's (tho’ I was invited to a rarebit at Lura’s) It was the first time I’d been down since the children died & Edith got back home. Elsie and Will &
