very blonde - very bleached and very rose colored-waisted - went as far as Avon with us. After a busy day down town. I met Mother, with Papa, at 5:55 and we came home to supper & cats and looking for Claude on a late train. Zozo was very very affectionate - the lovely cat! Oct. 21. Sun. A lovely, lovely day. I have done little this week but go to Republican torch-light processions & read “Quisante”.

(18th)
Kate & Hamilton Davis were over Thursday & Edith & we all went down in Plymouth Ave. and saw a big parade. Kate has been appointed in charge of the big new Girls Reformatory at Bedford, Westchester County - a very fine position. This morning Edith and I rode out the Scottsville path about six miles stopping on the way to rest by the river. We turned down the Ballantine Road - toward the west and explored a couple of miles - and after inquiring of a funny toothless old man, took another road, due north, which crossed Black Creek - and found a lovely spot
