” – a typical chorus girl, sat behind me – Gus &
his Mama (evidently) & a young woman (wife? or leading lady?)
ate chicken & drank bottled beer a good deal of the way – a fat girl
told “Miss Pingree
” her troubles – with another girl. Lor
She’s just trying to think up something to do before we got off this

A fond young couple (the best looking of the lot) went to sleep in each
other’s arms and the jolly girls lost no time with combs, towels,
looking glasses & a lost young man. I was amusement, anyway,
during a hot & dusty season & nothing would have hired me to
