and an instant go-to-sleep – as soon as I touched the pillow – at eleven or so. (17th) Today has been lovely too – and windier Yesterday the “Columbia” won the first race at N.Y. (after seven “flukes”) and to-day again – The “Shamrock” having broken a spar or something. We had the bulletins in the building. Tonight I’ve been making prints on Croughton paper. Lura went to N.Y. today – for the first time. The wind blew hard Oct. 22 Sunday. Mama still sick but the Dr. claims he’s curing her. A gray October day. Rode up the path with Con this morning.
