But now she’s really better – the dear doctor says so. Let’s see what’s happened since a month ago – Thanksgiving, for one thing. a quiet one – Con here to dinner (a good one) and in the evening I went over to Lura's and played cards with her and DeGraff and some others. Had quite a jolly time and I won everything at “Stop”.Miss Rathjen left the day before Thanksgiving

and was married the 5th of Dec. a snowy day. J.W. went to N.Y. a few days afterward and since then J.G. has entertained Admiral Sampson

at the Chamber of Commerce Dinner and a big luncheon and has been appointed Commissioner of Public Safety by our nice new Mayor Carnahan. And of course we are awfully busy. It has snowed plenty lately – I got the Burton Holmes Lectures
