for I won the prize! Gellett
Burgess'
Almanac. I sat next to Mabel at supper & she was very entertaining
indeed – telling funny stories of her experiences. We found there was
quite a blizzard when we started for home and it lasted all
Jan. 26 Fri
day today – and night – Edith
staid all night with me after the party, and we walked down in the
blizzard – at noon I lunched with her & Lura
and at night Edith & I went up
to
Mae & John's to dinner – a delicious
one and a pleasant evening by the fire. Such a blizzard, coming
home!
Jan 27. Sat.
Today – between five & six, I had a nice little visit with
Miss Scott in her “den”. The
first time I’ve been their since her “tea” to Claude & I. In the evening Claude & I went to see
Henry Miller in “The Only Way” – We had very
nice seats – from Hilliard- in
”H” – Theo, Meta, Amelie & me.
Woodward(?) sat near us – the play was very
“harrowing” & Mr. Miller very self–conscious. I was
glad I’d just read the book – It was a dramatization of
Dicken’s “Tale of Two Cities”.
