nice dogs standing about. At “Eagle Bay” people got on, and some got off, to go to Old Forge by carriage. Then we got on the sunny side of the pilot house and had “Wood's camp” pointed out to us, and “Eckler’s” and “Agate’s” (where Crump goes) and a number of very lovely places. The outlet into 3rd lake is unexpectedly winding and pretty and at “Bald Mt. House”, on 3rd lake we saw a boy with a bright red sweater, a man with a bright red vest and a dog with a bright blanket! Second lake is small and more or less uninteresting – and somewhere along there – or in 1st – we picked up the little steamer “Zip” which had bent something on a log and was dis- abled, and towed her down the pretty Moose River to Old Forge – where everybody got off and we saw again a real live train of cars, and could get our baggage checked! And actually buy a ticket through to Rochester at $4.49! After all this was done we climbed up to the Forge House for a very good dinner
