and I drove out to the Cemetery & called on Lizzie” & her babies and saw Mannin & met Mrs. Fred Noyes &c. &c. getting home in time for dinner with Papa at his boarding house. Scott Oberdorf & the two Dyers & young Bailey were at the table & it was quite jolly. “Scott” gave me a little flag & was very polite. Before I went in the afternoon, I took a little drive with May & Albert
and drove to the Ball game & took a walk with Papa. Left at 3.30 & Edith met me at the station & I went with her & Mary to “A Parisian Romance” at the Lyceum in the evening. I have been to the theatre once or twice since – To the “Private Secretary with the Chapins and to “The Senator”, The Wife“ and “Diplomacy” at the Baker with Cad mostly – & Mr. Chapin.

Mary Strong, Claude’s Chicago friend was here & we lunched at the grill room – she is a wit & very charming. This last week Edith Corse came thro’ – on her way west – and we lunched again & she was up here – she visited Florence Biegler
