Chapins and found Cad and her husband there (she was
“manicuring” him). Also Francie

Bess

Dear Mother’s birthday – the 65th!
We played with her bran–new back gammon board and she

Claude home from
Syracuse - where he’s been since Thursday. I
have a nice box of candied nuts from Mrs. Rice,
my Hay Island friend who lives in
Houston, Texas.

A nice wintry day, Claude home with
us. I went over to call on Miss Dowling this
morning, but didn’t find her. Then went to the Orphan Asylum
for a little while – They had their same exercises up in the 3rd
story of the old building - probably for the last time. Saw
Fred Beach in the
Regimentals of the Monroe Commandery. After dinner (a good
one) I had a nap and went over to the YWCA
a little while – Con was there and of
course
