Sept. 6. Thurs. A whole month home – Well, there was one terribly hot week – that first one - which broke the record for thirty years. Then it cooled off a bit – just a bit – and Trudy came the next week and stayed about ten days. We went down to Helen’s closing performance of the Vacation

Home one Saturday and had sand- wiches and coffee &c. and then Trudy, Mary, Edith & I rode up to Sea Breeze and walked over to Forest Lawn – a lovely walk it was too - and sat under the tree an hour – Saw Geo Perkins & Miss Gut- man (there on her vacation) meanwhile. We intended to take the train back but it was so lovely we walked – taking the sunset in on the way. The next Saturday we intended to go to Fairport on the Jessie but it was so hot we stayed at home till evening. Then rode out to Highland Park and watched the city sparkle out below us. Another evening we went with Edith to South Park to supper - took our lunch & listened to the
