Island since Martha telegraphed & phoned me – to call on Mrs. Siemer and the Twins. She met me at the ferry at St. George’s and looked as natural as ever, tho’ a little pale. We trolleyed to Stapleton – where I went thro' her little house, saw the nice babies – (the boy looks much like her) and had a nice little visit and some sandwiches and chocolate and left about 4:30 – she going to the Ferry with me again. I sat outside going up but it was really quite cold. Mary wasn’t there but I hardly expected her, so dressed & took her opera glasses and mine & went over to dinner and then up to the Bijou (The day before we had been under it to the stage to get Mrs. Dodson’s address) Mr. & Mrs. Carruthers were there with Mary but did not stay to the theater. We enjoyed the play immensely – it is very clever. Mrs. Dodson has a nice part too.
