(28th)
Friday afternoon and met Mama & me there at 4 o’clock. We went down at 7 in the morning and had a lovely day much cooler than in Rochester. Mother seemed to enjoy it very much and I am sure I did. We went to all sorts of funny places like the model dairy, the chicken incubator and the baby incubator &c. &c. Really did it quite thoroughly. Went into Fair Japan again and it was even lovelier than before and quite a different performance in the theatre. When we met Claude we sat and listened to Sousa’s band awhile drinking “soft drinks” meanwhile. Then we went down to the Art Building & saw a little gem of a collection of paintings & statuary. The Shaw memorial (Grand Prix) is there. Some Remington bronzes. a Procter Indian. A lot of Sargents portraits. some Whistlers - an Abbey – 2 “Harvey Ellises"(!) – The Geneseo Court House &c. &c. Met Mahlon Dai in there. We went to the New York
