took a few pictures up there and finally sauntered slowly back to the “The Park

” where we drank long wet lemonades and waited, lying on the grass talking “Browning” and “Kipling” till train time – “Mort” was very polite and nice all day. He is quite handsome, I think & a Cornell man & has taught down east. Had a pleasant ride home, except that a man tried to kill himself by throwing himself in front of the train. He was hurled 30 ft – but was not dead, they said, when we left him! The train was full of “fellows and girls” - but were a bad looking crowd – with a few other kinds – and the usual babies – I walked home with Mr. Macarthur – who had been to Silver Lake on the B.R. & P. and after cold tea – a bit of bread of butter and cucumber and assisting at washing [“Ticklum”] I now intend to go to bed & 9:30 sleep it off. I feel well sunburned
