wanted me to go down to the lake
& row up the late river, but I couldn’t be
lured out of Rochester so soon again & took a
nap instead! Made prints Monday night. Read new Scribner’s
(24-25, &

last night and tonight had a call from
Edith & then took the car around
& called on Chat – a lot of people
were there but we sat in the sitting room alone & had a nice
visit. I showed her my pictures and she walked to the car with me (&
Mr. Davis too) & I rode
right around to Hubbell Park – the
way the cars go now – sat up late writing & talking & about
midnight Claude & Mother & I had phosphate. She’d been
making a shirt waist box and Claude
seeing Charella who goes to
N.Y. in the morning, to sail for
Europe
with the boys & Miss Howard – on Saturday.
Aug. 8. Tues.
Lovely day – I’ve been out seeing the bicycle parade in connection
with the street fair. They have parades and things every day. Last night
Con & Claude
went up in the captive balloon there & Con has promised to take me up in it. He took me to lunch
today. Dr. & Edith Andrews were down, but I didn’t
wanted me to go down to the lake
