A little cooler – after such a hot spell! but by no means frigid –

Mary at 5 and we decided to go at
8:43, rather than 9:50, because we could get better accommodations.
Con came over early and he and
Mama
both went to the train with me.
Claude has been on Mr.
Sibley's
yacht “Thetis” since Tuesday and
expects to stay till Saturday.
Nellie came with Mary to the station. We could only get
upper berths 3 and 4 in the “Ampersand”, but they were very
comfortable. We went to bed at Syracuse (about
11) and I dozed to Albany
and then slept well & rested all the
