was to leave Saturday! Theo and Arno went to Washington on an excursion Wednesday and all the week – but the first two days – Miss Gutman was home sick & J.W. and I just rushed things. JG. is sick now with a cold – Has been home since Saturday morning.

Saturday, Sunday, and today were very unusual days. A continual blizzard - the wind got way up by Saturday pm and the thermometer way down and all day yesterday it just roared and snowed and blew and was beautiful and dreadful. It has been more or less so all day today – Tho’ it stopped coming occasionally – it is still only about 4 degree above zero, and was down to 1 degree at noon! My, it was lovely tho’ - I tried to take a night picture of it last night (inspired by those in Scribner’s) and when I brought in my camera after a half-hour ex- posure there was a snow drift on it. The river is frozen over again for the half – dozenth time this winter. I saw the “ice go out” twice – a fine sight - Big cakes breaking off like cheese at the dam
