hadn’t the heart to tell Con that I
had discovered this some time ago – with the aid of a word now &
then dropped by him – Well, anyway, “Harry
” is a nice looking & appearing fellow - & Con says he is so
but I hadn’t dare cast my eyes towards the “Dressed Beef” place any more!
About 11:30 we went on a voyage to discover the whereabouts of a
pancake – and coffee – smell and tracked it to a lair behind the
stage – where Con insisted on eating
steamed sausages and rye bread (and “barked” later) and I was content with
“lemon sour”) We got the last car – but I was so riotous I couldn’t sleep for some
24th
long hours. Thanksgiving morning we really got up
earlyish and I tasted turkey & amused myself all morning till
1:30 dinner. Con came and the dinner
was mightygood – but Claude
and I skipped out to the foot ball game.
Rochester & Hobart in Culver
field. Score 11 to 2 in favor of Hobart. Cold
but not a bad game – if so many men hadn’t been “laid out” on the
frozen ground. Claude walked thro'
Vick Park with me, to his car, and
1898.
