when I was down there yesterday to see their Christmas things (& Freddie's ) Dorothy
has a most magnificent doll – with complete trosseau. Yesterday after some talk with Gilmore (which I happened to know about) J.G. raised my salary to $18.00 a week & said some nice thing to intimate that he hoped I didn’t think he’d been forced to it – He wouldn’t if he hadn’t wanted to - & intended to anyway! Mary & I went to St. Peters this “afternoon”.
