boat stopped at the beautiful Sagamore Hotel and we left there, Mr. Braley's “team” meeting us, and drove up to “The Braley Cottage” on the hill overlooking the lake. We were so sleepy that we both took naps, immediately, in our pleasant room overlooking the lake. About 4 or half past we walked down to the shore – thro’ pleasant wood–paths – and then it commenced to rain and we had to scurry back and stay on the piazza – both before and after sup- per – watching the lovely lake and the sunset (also overhearing real – “Miss Herford” piazza - talk) – Early to bed – this Mt. air makes one so sleepy! July 7th Friday. If it turned out clear we intended to ascend Prospect Mt. today – but it was rainy and misty, and moreover, Trudy woke up with a sick headache - but got better soon. Mr. Braley drove us to the Bolton dock, where we took the Str. “Ticonderoga” down the lake and arrived at Braley's in Glens Falls just in time for dinner. We devoted most of the afternoon to packing, re-packing and settling, but about four o‘clock went down to the “store” (Mr. B’s) and got the horse “Dick” and took a delightful drive – way out the plank or ridge road
