Marion Watts. Joiner born 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. B. quite sick again & Meta couldn’t go, so Con escorted Mrs. Turpin! It was a gorgeous day – nearly every day has been, lately. Our cat was so funny tonight – chasing cats three times his size! Charella & the boys & Edna Howard are going to Europe! Sail the 29th. Decided quite suddenly. Frank Davis & Harry Backus are going up the Lakes – Mrs. Dymond
is coming thro’ here next Saturday, but I won’t be home. She says Mr. D.
& is going to Stony Lake with his Father & brother – and Mrs. Lindsay writes me they all are – and want me to come. July 2. Sun. A hot Sunday – was going for a bicycle ride, but it was too hot and windy. Staid home and read & got things ready to pack until after four, when I rode down to Edith's to take her birthday presents. Found Ida's baby came last night – weight 8 pound with its clothes on. Edith walked up with me and we had lemon sour and some “rocks” and were sitting out doors when we learned of dear Mrs. Behn's death – just before. She had a relapse Thursday night and all day her condition was very critical. It was a terrible shock to all of us.
