(by Teall) 80 girls all in gymnasium shirt waists (mostly white) It was very nice & informal & jolly – Helen was toast mistress & I responded to “The Basket Ball Team” in my “well – known poetical style”! Our corner was jolly - Klemmy Goodyear & Miss Delano. Mrs Crouch sat near me & Miss Otis &c. Afterward we danced – I two–stepped with Martha

awhile & Mabel Hayes Barrons (The Greek play girl) wanted we to do a cake walk with her – but my! I couldn’t [illegible] of the “gym” – so she got someone else, & it was awfully funny.

Yesterday – my birthday. It rained but I enjoyed it. I had nice things – flowers – (roses from Mary) candy, books (Con & Claude) a necktie (Con) stocking (polka–dot Papa & golf – Gilmore!) a lovely doiley from Chat & an equally lovely handkerchief & letter from Gertrude &c.&c. In the evening we all went over to the Lehigh station in the pouring rain to see Matie Arnold Hawley.
