Helen Davis and I had quite a conversation
with Dr. May Allen. I went up to Mary’s afterwards and had an hour’s
visit. She just got home from Worcester last night
– stopping over a train at Albany about a
position offered her in the Civil Service Commission and
which she seemed quite broken up to have to refuse. I met Claude later and he took me to see
Effie Shannon and
Herbert Kelsey in “Her Lord and Master” a very
good little play about a little wild American girl who married a
typical Englishman and was tamed in a nice sort of way. I tried to
take some pictures of “Zo” and “Zen” today - Shaking hands with
Claude, but didn’t succeed worth a
cent. The results are pretty “crummy”
Jan. 12th Sunday
All the rest of the week after New Year’s
I was about “sick-abed” with a bad
5th
cold and Sunday I did go to bed with a
medicine bottle and
6th
staid there Sunday and Monday
7th
and part of Tuesday (I went over to the dressmaker’s in the
afternoon.)
