and I had a very comfortable ride home – with little suggestion of
Labor Day till I got almost home. Reached the house soon
after four. Mother, Father (& the cats) were home &

Charlotte (but he arrived by supper
time) Had time for hot a hot bath and a little nap. After supper
visited & then unpacked my trunk.
Sept. 3. Tues.
Lovely day. My work all caught up nicely at the office by
Miss Blackall – Gilmore goes to Conesus
for the rest of the week. At noon went to Dr.
Bissell’s & had my eyes examined & must go for
belladonna Friday. Have been having very bad headaches lately – from
eye–strain. Mary telephoned me & Edith called and this evening Mary &
I went down to Edith's to “swap
experiences” – Mary's adventures getting to Hay Island were not her only ones - and
she’s “never going alone again.”
