Mar. 17. Got up early Sunday morning & after various adventures “sailed” at about 8 o’clock for N.Y. and about 9 started for Rochester. A fine bright day in N.Y. and pleasant enough on board train. We go thro’ Tuxedo, and along the Delaware for miles. I read & we had a nice lunch to eat &c. &c. Mary read “Eleanor” which I gave her for her birthday. We had to wait in Corning & walked around town and got hot chocolate &c. Arrived home promptly at 9:15. Papa & Nellie Mac met us – Bath and bed
