were full, but we left on things there and strolled up Broadway - I Bought a big bunch of violets for 25¢. We also bought other things - gloves and theatre tickets &c. and gazed in true country fashion. We got back about 11 found still no rooms - but they gave us an address Mrs. Levering(?) 139 West 15th which we called on and engaged the parlors - sofa bed &c. at a dollar a night, and moved in accordingly - Then we went down to the Stock Exchange and watched the busy bidders on the floor for a while - Then went into Savarins Cafe
in the Equitable Bldg.
and had a very swell and very delicious lunch - walked down to the Produce Exchange & called on Mr. Dickerson but he wasn't in, and then went over via the emigrant station to the Aquarium & spent a facinating hour so - the fresh water was so roilly we couldn't see much but the seals "Nelly and the Baby" and "Jerry" and the of queer salt sea fishes were very interesting - In front
