time. The porter was very nice to us.

was on – going to Boston. We had breakfast at
Springfield and left the train at
Worcester at 9:30 or so, Took a little walk
there and their took the 10 o’clock train on to South
Framingham. Had an hour and a half there, so we went up to
the
Kendall House, a nice new hotel and rested in the parlor and
house and had a very nice dinner before going on – at 12:30. It
began to get very “down East–y” there – we changed again at
Taunton and finally reached New
Bedford – a funny old place – at about two and got
right on the boat, “Gay Head” and stayed there till seven. First we
went out of the big harbor into Buzzard's Bay and
across it to Wood’s Hole where all the Boston
crowd – a nice actor–man (we think) and a lot of awfully
pretty girls got on. Most of them were for Vineyard
Heights and cottage
